THE KOREAN SOCIETY OF WEED SCIENCE (KSWS) was founded in 1981,
and is an academic society dealing with various aspects of Weed Science and
Weed Management. KSWS also promotes academic development,
technology innovation, and fellowship among the members.
KSWS has about 300 members and holds two regular academic conferences in spring and fall every year.
KSWS is the regular member of society of Korean Federation of Science & Technology Societies (KOFST) and
The Korean Association of Societies for Agriculture, Food, and Life Sciences (KAAFLS).
A quarterly journal, Weed & Turfgrass Science is jointly published by KSWS and The Turfgrass Society of Korea.
KSWS has been actively engaged in international exchanges with Asian Pacific Weed Science Society (APWSS),
Weed Science Society of America (WSSA), Weed Science Society of Japan (WSSJ), etc. KSWS hosted the 12th APWSS Conference in Seoul,
1989 and East Asian Weed Science Congress in Jeju, 2011.
